Among the myriad things this project tried to be was a showcase of the preludes. Three came out quite well (all Bach's, naturally): F# Minor, D Major, and Eb Minor. Audio
These audio recordings of some classical dance tunes I was preparing to perform live at a concert in my living room ended up gifting me, surely by miracle, six definitive versions of Bach dances: the Sarabandes, Gigues, Minuet, and Bourée from the E Major and B Minor "French" Suites. I don't use the word "definitive" lightly. Dig that pulse. Audio
My lockdown began by recording myself playing classical pieces, instead of hosting live concerts at my apartment as I had planned. Since this project did end up stretching over almost two years and 38 recordings, I can't bring myself to take it down, even though there's not much to it outside of the Chopin A Minor waltz, where an intimate, amateurish aesthetic does begin to coalesce. I am making this collection of embarrassing college-era outtakes public because in each piece there is at least one cool rhythmic idea that I think is worth keeping for posterity. Also, Pelvic Couth and As I Like It (with my brother DragoÈ™ on harmonica), are actual bangers. Also, my wife kinda likes it and says I should, which is reason enough. Audio
